Maersk Sana

We have received reports that container carrier, MAERSK SANA, became disabled and adrift in a position approximately 26 nautical miles off Malahayati, Indonesia on 23 February 2022.

* The vessel is currently reported to be sailing under its own power, but at a much reduced speed, off the north coast of Sumatra.

* It is possible that General Average / Salvage and associated recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.

* Recovery issues may also arise in respect of any temperature and/or time sensitive cargo should the vessel's schedule be affected by the casualty.

* We therefore recommend that you contact us urgently if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
