* Further to our original report, the owners of bulk carrier, LASCOMBES have now declared General Average as a consequence of the fire that was ignited on board on 1 April 2022.

* General Average security will therefore be required from all cargo interests prior to the delivery of their cargo and we will be able to assist in that regard.

* We have already been instructed by certain cargo insurers and we are currently liaising with the appointed average adjusters with respect to the terms of the GA security to be provided. We may also be able to offer certain economies of scale in respect of any third party costs which may need to be incurred.

* We recommend that you contact us if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can take steps to protect your interests.

* We have received reports that a fire was ignited in a cargo hold of wood stowed on board bulk carrier, LASCOMBES whilst the vessel was moored at Bremerhaven, Germany on 1 April 2022.

* It is reported that the cargo hold was flooded with the assistance of at least 5 fire-fighting tugs to extinguish the fire.

* It is It is possible that General Average, Salvage and Recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty and the efforts to fight the fire.

* We therefore recommend that you contact us if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can start taking steps to protect your interests.
